A one-credit Pass/Fail course as well as a series of free lectures, Issues in Global Studies has focused on such themes as Global Digital Cultures, The Politics of Global Food & Health, Capitalism & its Global Entanglements, and Diaspora & Transnationalisms. This semester, The Fragility of States examines why failed and failing states - from Somalia to Syria and beyond - are destabilizing and unraveling. Why, even in advanced and developed states, is governance failing?
Led by Prof. Muqtedar Khan, Political Science & International Relations and Islamic Studies, lectures start September 7 and continue on Thursdays from 12:30 - 1:20 pm in 005 Kirkbride.
